SCOTT RICHMOND (satellite, central park , calamity jane recs)

A DJ since the young age of fourteen, New York’s Scott Richmond arguably grew up behind the decks. His classical training with a BFA in music composition and studio engineering undeniably gave him an ear for impeccable selections of music and all things house, and his early beginnings as a professional DJ helped shape his diverse approach and deep connection with the crowd.

Offered his first residency when he was 18 when a club DJ (who Scott brought records to every week) quit and bluntly said “take over,” Scott immediately rose to the challenge. DJing 6 hours a night, Scott experimented with fusing everything from new wave, industrial and alternative, to hip hop and reggae, creating a musical journey that responded to crowd reactions. These early days were a direct influence on Scott’s current style, which rides everything from smooth and deep house to afro-Latin beats and funky electro house. While he moves through different genres of house, the threads that hold it all together remain the same – it’s always energetic, catchy and captivating. It is this adaptive ability and commitment to his audience that has landed him gigs from Los Angeles to Tel Aviv.

Simply being a DJ has never been enough for Scott though, and as a senior in college he co-founded Satellite Productions with partner Jonathan Kadish. Over the years, the iconic company produced such events as Sputnik and Voyager in venues like the Brooklyn Bridge Anchorage, Roseland, The Manhattan Center, Mid-Hudson Civic Center, Asbury Park Convention Center and more. This paved the way for them to found Satellite Records the following year with locations opening in NYC, Boston, Atlanta and, of course, satelliterecords.com online. Scott served as CEO and main music buyer. Satellite helped set the standard for dance music retail with their innovations in classification, listening stations, selection and sound samples.

In conjunction with the store, Scott also co-founded Central Park Recordings in 1999. At Central Park, Scott helped discover and break such talents as Tortured Soul, Alix Alvarez and Osunlade. Many house classics over the past few years have originated from the label including Tortured Soul’s “I Might Do Something Wrong.” Additionally, Scott was the co-A&R behind Pitch Black and Pipeline Records, which released many progressive classics and discovered and featured such artists as Blackwatch, Moshic, John Creamer & Stephane K and several others.

Scott has also been successful as a recording artist. His release “Tarenah” is featured on the very famous CafĂ© Del Mar Vol. 2 compilation that sold over 300,000 copies, and most recently was released on the “All Night Long” DJ Mix CD by Layo and Bushwacka. He also collaborated with John Selway on the now classic “Keep On Climbing” which was featured on Danny Tenaglia’s “Twisted Secrets 2” compilation for Twisted records among others. Scott and ex-production partner Ebar were commissioned for remixes of Ian Friday’s “Carib’s Leap” released on West End Records and Ananda Project’s “Free Me” which was released in October 2007 by King Street Records. Scott will be releasing projects with new collaborators in the upcoming year.

In 2007, Scott teamed up with promotion partner Tom Mello producing events throughout NYC featuring such talent as Felix da Housecatt, Miguel Migs, Kerri Chandler, Spank Rock, Diplo, Steve Aoki, Dj Sneak, Dave Seaman and many more of the top notch DJ and live dance music oriented talent the world has to offer.

Most recently Scott along with new label partner Dani Deahl has launched Calamity Jane records in association with Strictly Rhythm records. Calamity Jane will feature the best in new dance music talent. In conjunction with this the team at Calamity Jane Management will be representing the best cutting edge talent Scott and his associates can find.

3PO (satellite, cable recs)

"...With an intelligent approach to House music like his, there's no doubt we'll be seeing more of him soon..." MIXER

Few electronic artists today have the necessary skills and experience to do what Chris 3PO has done. Since his DJ career began in early 1993 in Buffalo, NY 3PO has been thrilling and filling dance floors all over the world with his mix of Funky/Tribal/Electro beats. 3PO developed his sound in Buffalo, NY where he found himself amidst a small, but dedicated and growing underground club/rave scene. With Toronto, Canada a short drive away, 3PO was within earshot of some of the hottest electronic talent around. His career soon brought him to New York City where his surrounding influences led to his current blend of uplifting House music. 3PO's style is attributed to a good upbringing of Funk, Soul, New Wave, Motown, James Brown, Doc Martin, and many other subtle artistic and cultural textures that make his sound complete.

Once in NYC, 3PO's demand brought him to the stage with such luminaries as Dj Dan, Chemical Brothers, The Orb, Bad Boy Bill, Derrick Carter, Keoki to name a few. 3PO was also chosen to perform with a virtual who's who of electronica at WEMF '99 & '01, a three day music festival in Canada with over 10,000 in attendance, and continues to keep a busy schedule playing many of the hottest clubs and raves in locations like Venezuela, Toronto, Switzerland, Quebec, Dominican Republic, Ottawa, San Francisco, Mexico, New Orleans, Miami, Gainesville(Simon's), North Carolina, Boston, as well as NYC's legendary clubs like Twilo, Centro-Fly, Tunnel, Roxy, Exit, Soundfactory & Vinyl (Arc).

His passionate sets and mix tapes have brought him accolades from Tribe Magazine & XLR8R, BPM, Radio One, as well as frequent guest spots on Pseudo.com and Solid State on NYC’s KROCK radio station with DJ Liquid Todd.

Always looking to step up his game, 3PO is currently taking his art to the next level by collaborating with NYC DJ/Producer John Creamer & Stephane K. on an upcoming House release as well as a Breakbeat track with Justin Johnson for release on Barely Legal Records. Also, his current track under the moniker Secret Society, "Stolen" on Cable Recordings has sold four thousand copies worldwide & was the 2nd best selling track of 2001 at Satellite Records. CHRISTIAN BRUNA (camouflage)

This New York City born and bred dj has been involved with the Techno, Rave, and Drum & Bass way of life since 1991. He started out as a party go'er when he was 16 attending Future Shock Friday's at Limelight, and shortly there after Nasa at the legendary Club Shelter. During this time he collected a variety of early Rave records (ranging from House to Trance and Breakbeat to Hardcore) and began to practice the art of dj'ing. Later on his good friend and famed NYC graffiti writer "TKA" blessed him with a crate or two of his own records which increased Christian's ammunition by two-fold. A few years later he began to dj and soon enough was accepted into the ranks of NYC's elite and most sought after Rave dj's. Performing at party's both locally and out-of-state at the tender age of 19 he accomplished what many still dream of today.

In 1997 at 21 years of age CB went on to create what he is mostly known for nowadays. NYC's longest running 21+ weekly Drum & Bass party called Camouflage, which is now celebrating twelve years in the game. Christian is also the only D&B dj in NYC to hold a weekly residency for twelve years.

Last, but not least around the same time Camouflage began he also worked at both Temple Records (downstairs from Liquid Sky) and Satellite Records on Bowery, for many years.
